A little about me, I am UK Born with a mixed Turkish/English background, with the majority of my family living in London. I have been teaching children and toddlers since 2010. My education background includes a degree in Business and EU politics (UK), a Masters in Middle Eastern Politics and International Relations (UK) and a Teaching diploma from Canada. I have spent the past 6 years in Istanbul teaching young children and adults while my job in the UK involved teaching and mentoring immigrant children (particular war victims) and helping them adapt into a British Kindergarten/primary school. I also worked part time in several play groups in my local area over the years.
My love and passion towards teaching young children grew especially after spending time with very unfortunate and broken children, trying to find the most creative, fun and inspiring ways to teach a new language, ease the pain and make the transition into a new life, a new school easier. This passion has tripled if not more since having my own child.
Being in Istanbul and seeing a gap in the market for fun but educational language based groups for toddlers gave me the idea to start up my own groups. I have been running private play groups in Turkey for 3 years.
So, what do I want to achieve? My aim is to be the home away from home. It is to create a safe space for children and parents, to host a platform where parents can meet in a chilled out environment while their children enjoy themselves and hopefully learn along the way.
To enjoy the play group environment you should feel comfortable to kick off your shoes, pop into the kitchen and pour yourself a fresh coffee, help yourself to a couple of English biscuits and sit alongside your child and encourage them during the activities.
